How can a coffee cup add depth to your novel or screenplay?
In today’s video I share several ways that a simple coffee cup can add layers to your screenplay or novel. After all, it’s the little things… the small details… that add so much to a story.
For screenwriters especially, the small details are important. We only have 100 or so pages to get our complete story and message told. We have to use words sparingly, so a simple visual placed throughout the script can give heaps of information with only a few words.
Cop a squat.
So, pour yourself a cup of coffee, cop a squat and give the video a watch, then write a short scene where a coffee cup makes an appearance.
How else can you use a coffee cup in a story? What can it say about your characters? Share in the comments and let’s get creative!
