It feels like alcohol is synonymous with New Years so I figured why not get us all liquored up to start the new year?
I've noticed a new trend on Pinterest and that's the use of old liquor and wine bottles as decor.
Each time I see one, I can't help but wonder what types of people choose this kind of decor. Lovers of alcohol, obviously. Those that have an appreciation for liquor and the different experience that each type offers.
Or maybe it's a bachelor who's being resourceful and repurposing some of the interesting looking bottles rather than going out and buying lighting or soap bottles that look just like everybody else's.
When writing novels, or scripts especially - any mention of this type of decor can reveal a lot about the character. For film, it's a visual cue that hints at something more. For novels, the mention stresses it's importance. It wouldn't be there otherwise. So what exactly is that old bottle saying? What's it's story?
Maybe it's a character who has overcome their demons and the bottles are a reminder of their victory.
Everything can have a story. It's just a matter of letting it come to life.
