Happy Friday, everybody!
Today I am going to do something that I never, ever do. I’m not a fashionista by any stretch of the imagination, or a stay-at-home mom of the year, but I have found a few things that make me feel like both and I thought I might share them with you.
The first thing that I have fallen in love with and didn’t even know existed until a while ago: WAL-MART Grocery pick-up!
No going inside and having to stroll down every aisle? Exactly.
Grocery shopping is the bane of my existence. It’s literally the worst part of any day… until now.
For those of you who don’t know, Wal-Mart offers a great new service where you can order everything on-line (takes me about 15 minutes), set a two-hour window for pick up, drive your sweet little self to Walmart, park and then they bring it out and load it in your car! That’s it!
I’m usually parked outside WalMart and then pulling away in less than five minutes. Unreal.
Plus, there is no extra fee for this! Amazing, right?
I’ve found that with produce and meat, they actually pick better stuff than I would.
Give it a try and let me know what you think! If you use my promo code, you get $10 off your first order (and I get $10 off my next). Here’s the code: http://refer.walmart.com/v2/share/6265788474668051990
The next thing: Monat Hair Products
Note: I do not sell this product! This is just an honest review and my experience.
I have a couple of friends that have been talking about this stuff on FB for a while now, and I had no intention of giving it a try…
But, my hair has been thinning for a while now. And when I’m in the shower, my hair falls out by the hand full. It’s depressing. I’ve also always had very fine hair. So, I figured why not give it a try?
I actually ordered three different products. The BLACK shampoo and conditioner in one and the Revitalize shampoo and conditioner (separate). So far, I’m only using the BLACK. It’s for men – to retain hair and encourage hair growth, but women (like me) use it too. So far, I’m really happy with the results. I lose a lot less hair in the shower, and my hair is not only thicker, but it’s growing like a weed! I don’t believe that I’m exaggerating when I say that my hair is healthier than it has ever been!
The cost isn’t bad at all – especially with how long it lasts (about 3 months per bottle).
If you have issues with your hair, it’s worth a shot. Ask for a few samples and give it a go! Leave me a comment or e-mail me (email@example.com) and I can be sure to get you in contact with my friend Jayme Hopson. She’s my rep and she can answer all of your questions.
Next: Lipsense and ShadowSense
Again: I DO NOT sell this! Just my opinion.
This is my new makeup obsession. Nothing – and I mean, nothing lasts on my face… or at least it didn’t until I started used these products.
Again, I have a couple of friends who sell this, and I saw them posting about it. Due to looking like death half way through every day, I figured I’d give it a try.
I started with the LipSense. Lip color that stays on your lips for-ev-er! I liked it so much that I now also use their eye shadow. Only a few drops on the lid, blend and it’s on all day until you take it off. Amazing!
If you hate applying make-up or touching it up several times a day (or are like me and just forget to) – give this a try! Again, I’ve got a few great friends that sell the product. If you’re interested, let me know in the comments (or e-mail me: firstname.lastname@example.org) and I’ll get you in contact with one of them!
Last but certainly not least: StitchFix!!
Okay, seriously! This is my most favorite thing on the planet! Like the other items above, I saw people talking about this company/service. I waited and waited.. but finally gave it a try.
Best. Thing. Ever.
You sign up, answer several fashion questions about yourself and then every month, you get a box of clothes in the mail that a personal assistant has selected for you! Five items to be exact! You can send back any that you don’t like.
I have no fashion sense and dread shopping for anything. Until Stitch Fix, my closet consisted of clothes from Wal-Mart and Target. Now, I have clothes I truly love and look and feel great in.
Here are some of the items I’ve received so far:
(This was actually taken today. It’s my March fix. Sweater and scarf. You may also be able to tell that my hair is looking decent – with just a wash and a blow-dry. That’s it! Thanks, Monat!)
(February fix- shirt, jeans and bracelet) The necklace is from my friend Jayme M. at Bonedust Cowgirl in OKC. Turquoise (cross) and antler necklace.
Bonedust was kind enough to make the keys used in Annabelle Hooper and the Ghosts of Nantucket – so be sure to check them out when you watch the film! They are made out of mammoth bone (yes that is legal because the animals are long dead)! Wow!
Here are some more items I’ve received from StitchFix:
Not only do you get the clothes, but you also get style cards that give you suggestions of exactly how to wear your new items. See?
For the most part, I would never in a million years chosen any of these items for myself, but I love them all. And the prices are very reasonable! There is a $25 styling fee each month but it goes towards the purchase of the clothes.
If you want to give this service a try, here’s my referral code: https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/6807291
For any referral I get $25 off my next order. And of course, you could get the same if you refer anyone. Totally cool!
If you give any of these a try – or want more information, please comment or e-mail (email@example.com) me! I’d love to share my contacts and experiences!
I hope you see some things here that you might like to try – or can get excited about.
